Eileen Dorsey’s styles are as varied as she is as a person. From playful to serious, from party-person to solidarity, her art encompasses a wide range of emotions and techniques. Her gamut runs from in-your-face palette knife landscapes and backgrounds to sensitively blended brushstrokes. Her talent for painting realism can make a portrait come to life with spirit and soulfulness.
Dorsey’s goal is to capture the life-essence of her subjects; she accomplishes this by working from original photography of people she may or may not know. In addition to amalgamating several photos into a single composition, she also studies the color palettes of nature and the sky, taking mental photos of form and color to recreate in the studio. Her command of tone, value, contrast, and engaging subject matter has created a vast and varied body of work that has a signature style and vibe.

About Eileen
March 25th, 2007
Dorsey’s artistic oeuvre, a scrapbook of drunken college memories and females in sex-laden poses, serves her goal to Ãpater la bourgeois through painting. By choosing scandalous subject matter, she delights in people’s unsure and sometimes uneasy reaction to her work. She comes from a generation who is hard to shock so she is unafraid to present candid works of a party-driven lifestyle. Her paintings unfold an autobiography with an eye for rockin’ party scenes & sex-pot models. Through acrylics, enamel, and oils, she works from snapshots and party pics that record-keep the alcoholics, the party monsters, the sexy girls and the wasted boys, the booze, the broads, and the times one wakes with a hangover afterward.
